Prof. David Caron
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Prof David Caron on 20 February 2018 after a short illness.
Prof Caron had supported the FDI Moot from its first edition in 2008, through his participation as a keynote speaker and enlisting his eminent friends and colleagues as moot arbitrators and conference speakers. After becoming Dean at the FDI Moot's co-founder King's College London in 2013, he threw his full support behind making the 2015 competition at KCL the best yet.
David Caron’s professional accomplishments are beyond what can be done justice here: US Coast Guard officer and salvage diver; Fulbright Scholar, Order of the Coif; IUSCT legal assistant, Hague Academy; private practice in San Francisco, distinguished professor of law at Boalt Hall; professor and Dean at KCL; Judge ad hoc at the International Court of Justice; ICC, ICDR and ICSID arbitrator, IUSCT Judge …. KCL Memorial Note
There are already countless tributes to his perceptive intellect and kindness. David’s warmth, humour and generosity would leave a lasting impression on anyone who met him.
We would like to extend our heart-felt sympathies to David‘s wife, Susan Spencer, and his children, Peter and Marina, and our appreciation for having been able to know him.
